Caring for the Future of Your Child

Our practice goals are to provide individualized care, to respond to the particular needs of your child and to foster open and complete communication. With this approach, we can have a positive influence on the future of your child, while providing a warm, secure and encouraging environment. As a parent, you are intimately involved with your baby and know him/her best.Sisters hugging

All children are different and we tailor our plan of action or treatment by examining your child, learning more about his/her personality, experiences and family situation. We will discuss the findings and explain them thoroughly to you. Together we can make a difference in the future health and happiness of your child. We would be honored to have you tell your friends and neighbors about us. We would be happy to welcome them to our practice.

About Pediatricians

A pediatrician is a medical doctor specializing in the care of infants, children, and teenagers, as well as the treatment of their diseases. This care is comprised of a prenatal interview with you and your spouse, routine well-child checkups, including developmental, hearing and visual screening, immunizations, lab tests and sick visits. We comply with the standards set by the American Academy of Pediatrics for all immunizations, lab tests and visits. Preventive medicine through routine health supervision is your child's best preparation for the future.

After Hours Calls

After hours calls are for urgent medical matters only. When the office is closed, calls are taken by the answering service. They relay your message to the Pediatric After Hours Program of the Norton Healthcare. The nurses then call you back. They provide an excellent service, and a doctor from our call group provides support to them nightly.

When you call, please have these ready:

      1. Pen and paper

      2. Child's temperature

      3. List of symptoms

      4. Questions you may have

      5. Any medicines you have available

If you ever have to call in the evening and do not get a return call within 20 minutes, please call again. Routine questions (i.e. feeding, elimination, behavioral problems or ongoing conditions) should be saved for office hours. Prescriptions are not refilled and appointments cannot be made after hours. Your consideration of these requests will be mutually beneficial in enabling you to receive - and our office to provide - the best possible care for your child.

Office Visits

Visits are by appointment only. Please call early to request a sick visit. This will help us arrange a same day appointment if necessary.

When you call, please have available the child's temperature and a list of symptoms and problems that we need to discuss. This will allow us to schedule enough time to spend with you.

Candace is the Office Manager, and your calls will be taken by Tina, and Christi who have extensive professional and personal experience with children and their illnesses. Prenatal interviews, well checkups, school and sport physicals should be scheduled in advance.

Fees and BillingLittle boy with an apple

Payment is expected at the time of service. This includes these examples: when you have not met your deductible, or if you are a self-pay or have an 80/20 type plan and are responsible for a portion of your bill. If you are responsible for a copayment, it is expected when you sign in. It is always important that we communicate freely and confidentially about any financial concerns you have.

The Best Kids staff will work with you to resolve any billing or insurance issues. If you have an outstanding balance with us or are having financial troubles, we can always work out some form of repayment plan that is mutually acceptable. We will file insurance claims for you.

Please help us by letting us know as soon as your insurance coverage changes. Remember to read your insurance plan as you would any other contract you would sign. Insurance plans will provide only what they state they will provide and only the coverage you pay for. Be sure your insurance coverage allows your child to be hospitalized at the hospital of your choice.

Fever Handout

If you do not already have a copy of our fever instruction sheet, ask us! This sheet is a favorite. It contains information that is difficult to find, such as dosages for children less than six months old. We also have a number of handout sheets in which you can find useful information and helpful tips. Please ask if we have one about the topic that interests you.
